Women's Empowerment Program (WEP)

Texas Veterans Ranch and Family Resort has created a program dedicated to women at risk. The purpose of this program is to assist women who are suffering from PTSD, sexual assault, domestic violence, and other traumas. The program consists of individual and group counseling sessions located on therapeutic ranch sites designed to aid in the healing process.

Violence against women in the military has risen to an all-time high and the suicide rate for our female veterans has soared 85 percent in recent years. This has led the military, VA and advocacy groups to look for new ways to improve women's mental health care during and after military service. Because women's experiences in the military are different from their male counterparts, their transition programs need to reflect that difference. Our Women’s Empowerment Program is designed to assist our female veterans heal through group and individual counseling sessions.

The Women’s Empowerment Program [WEP] was initially designed to provide support to veteran women who suffer from PTSD. However, research has shown that all women at are risk, and the suicide rate for women is rising at an epidemic rate. Click here for more information.
